Wednesday was cold, grey and wet all day (I was out in it!). Then, the sun dipped below a cloud layer and immediately after sunset we were treated to this stunning spectacle. High, wispy clouds seemed to be rippled into a wave-like pattern. As the display progressed there seemed to be dark, spoke-like shadows forming. Another witness I spoke to the next day, thought these shadows may have been produced by a line of cloud 'mountains' strung along the horizon.
