Oldham Road Rochdale

Before they opened the motorway Image this was the main link road between Rochdale and Oldham. The photograph was taken the weekend after some of the worst floods to hit Northern England in many years. The bridge in the picture carries the main Manchester to Leeds railway line known as the Caldervale Line http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caldervale_Line
