The new building will replace two existing primary schools: Aitkenbar and St Peter's. For a view of the construction site from a different angle, and for more information, see Image In the present view, the area to the left of the road is the former site of the Bellsmyre High Flats (Image); the flats had by this time been demolished, but no construction was yet taking place there.
