Rebuilt West Country Pacific 34027 "Taw Valley", visiting the West Somerset Railway for the summer, runs round its train at Minehead. Just beyond the locomotive can be glimpsed the siding built to receive stone for the enhancement of Minehead's coastal defences. The stone was transported here by train via the West Somerset's connection with the national rail network near Taunton, thence to Minehead via the full length of the preserved line.
