The church's website tells us they have been around since 1857 as the date stone on the adjacent Methodist Chapel, now used as the church hall. The date stone on the church building is for 1882. A major £130,000 re-fit designed by Core Architects was completed in October 2010 that included a redesign of the entrance, new floor and heating system along with modern, comfortable seating. This was the first refurbishment since the 1980s.
