The rough track is Osterley Lane, which crosses farmland to reach the north-east end of the park's lake. This was by no means the first time I'd photographed these lodges - on this occasion I couldn't resist the crispness of the light. Things do change from time to time - the gate piers have lost some fancy Georgian wrought-ironwork since I first photographed them.
