Horn House and Horn deserted medieval village

The village had become completely deserted by the 15th century, although a rector was inducted (without a church!) as late as 1809. The civil parish, which effectively consisted at the end of just Horn House, with a census population of just 9 in 2001, was amalgamated with Exton parish as recently as 2015. There are significant earthworks on the hillside below Horn House, as seen in this picture, together with a moated site on the west side of the North Brook. The site is a Scheduled Monument.
