The Down train, 10.50 from Waterloo to Exeter, Plymouth, Padstow, Ilfracombe etc., with Southern Railway Bulleid 'Merchant Navy' class 4-6-2 No. 21C12 'United States Lines', still in SR livery in May 1948: it was built 1/45, renumbered under BR as 35012, rebuilt 2/57, withdrawn 4/67.
