The playground at Burstwick School, flooded by the overflowing Skeckling Drain. The nearby Burstwick Drain and other smaller drains were unable to cope with the huge volume of water being channelled south and west towards the River Humber after recent heavy rains. The drains overflowed onto the surrounding farmland creating a shallow lake with very few patches of dry land in between, stretching for almost three kilometres from Hedon Growers near Hall Bridge at Burstwick to the Villa Lane junction on the A1033 between Hedon and Thorngumbald. When this photograph was taken the standing water in many areas had already receded by a foot or more.
