The A17 road to Sleaford once went through Leadenham, and this Coaching Inn stood on a tight corner. It was popular with the Carriage Trade, and I have stopped here myself from time to time. The village is now bypassed, But the George is largely unchanged and worth a visit if you want a well-prepared home made lunch. This is a grade II listed building, and the Historic England listing describes the fabric as "Mid 18th and early 19th" century (https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1061870 ). The Inn's own website suggests it is named for George III (http://www.thegeorgeatleadenham.co.uk/aboutus.shtml )
