Once past the entrance to Newark Cricket Club's car park it is no longer possible to follow Kelham Road towards Kelham village because the new (in 2004) A46 has bisected the road. From this point onwards there is only access to a nearby farm. Behind the photographer however, lies a 0.5 km stretch of (residential) road that joins the Great North Road.
