Planning permission has been granted by Canterbury City Council under application number CA//15/01462 for an “application for full planning permission and listed building consent for the change of use from Class A2 (financial and professional services) to Class A5 (hot food takeaway) and external and internal alterations including the installation of ventilation and extraction equipment”. The building was formerly a branch of the National Westminster Bank. Number 51 is a grade II listed building dating from the mid 19th century.
