Viewed from Barrs Court Road, opposite Hereford railway station (but not near the only station entrance). The school website states that Barrs Court School was commissioned by Herefordshire Local Authority as a state funded co-educational secondary phase special school following the passing of the Education (Handicapped) Children Act in 1970. It is the only school of its type in Herefordshire to specialise exclusively in the education, care and therapeutic treatment of secondary aged children who have learning disabilities.
