The remains of a Norwich Union fire insurance plaque on a building on Bridge Street in Worcester. This plaque was photographed by Bob Embleton in 2008 and in the intervening years it has deteriorated Image Fire plaques of various insurance companies appeared on the front buildings in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, in the days before municipal fire brigade these plaques were evidence that the owner of the property had fire insurance and the insurance company's own fire brigade would attend.
