December 2015 has been exceptionally mild and wet (though nothing like as wet in these parts as in the north and Scotland), but the last day of the year was fine, sunny and cooler. The drive to the left leads to a fine house called Hatchpen. The tiny white-and-orange speck high in the sky to the left of the tree is an easyJet airliner.
