Bought by King's School, Canterbury in 1982, the building and the fence and gates are grade II listed, built in 1847. Curiously the listing refers to 'St. Alphege Church Hall' without mention of its Jewish origins at all. This must refer to its use in the period from 1931 to 1982 between disuse as a synagogue and its purchase by the school.
