Following the demolition of the old "sausage bridge" the new footbridge was opened on the 18th November 2015. Fully illuminated at night and wider to facilitate access, locals can now safely walk and cycle across. With its multicoloured illumination, the new-look Greystone footbridge on the Liverpool-Knowsley boundary is an eye-catching gateway to the city on the M62.
