Viewed from platform 2 looking along the Welsh Marches Line towards Shrewsbury, 44km away. Next station ahead is Craven Arms. In 2015, the Welsh Marches is an imprecisely defined area along and around the border between England and Wales. The area was more precisely defined in the Middle Ages. Ludlow, Craven Arms and Shrewsbury are all in Shropshire, on the England side.
