Govan Shipyard was acquired by BAE SYSTEMS from Kvaerner in 1999. The ship being built on the right is Royal Fleet Auxiliary Cardigan Bay, an amphibious landing ship designed to carry around 350 troops, plus two helicopters and a one landing craft unit.
