DAY 1945-1995 DONATED BY THE PEOPLE OF DONINGTON PARISH. V.E. (Victory in Europe) Day was the public holiday on May 8th 1945 to mark the formal acceptance by the Allies of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces, marking the end of the Second World War in Europe.
