The line from Nine Elms to Richmond came into service on 27th July 1846. This view looks from Charlwood Road bridge towards Putney station which is just beyond the bridge in the distance. Here Norroy Road is to the left and Upper Richmond Road is to the right. There are two fast lines here for trains from Waterloo to Reading and two slow lines for trains from Waterloo to Richmond and over the Hounslow Loop.
