A view of Woolston station looking towards Sholing taken from the footbridge. To the right are the toll booths for the Itchen Bridge and to the left the now disused signalbox built in 1910 when the line to Netley and Portsmouth was doubled. The Southampton & Netley Railway Act 1863 required this station to be established and maintained in perpetuity.
