Welwyn: Crossroads at Pulmer Water

The photographer is standing in the Civil Parish of Welwyn, but the road on the left (Codicote Road) demarcates the boundary with the Civil Parish of Ayot St Lawrence to the west, while the road on the right (Kimpton Road) marks the boundary with the Civil Parish of Codicote! In the distance, where the white van is parked, is the ford over the River Mimram at Pulmer Water featured in several of the photographs of this square on the site. The direction sign can be seen in close-up in Julian's Image Alas the route to Welwyn is now going downhill...
