One of the few places where this beck is now exposed in the town. The beck here runs along the property boundaries on the west side of the high street. The beck is now totally enclosed along Valley Road, Bullamoor Road, Friarage Street, but is exposed through the Applegarth to where it joins the Willow Beck near Castle Hills. It used to be open along most of its length providing an interesting routeway for boys in the 1950s and 1960s.
