The old barge, a permanent feature for many years in the old Bute East Dock, which is now sealed off from the sea, has been rotting away for some time, suffering notable damage in the winter two years ago. And now she's sunk. A boom has been placed around the vessel to try to contain any oil spills, and it's not clear what happens next, but the future for this old vessel can't be good.
