It is hard to believe that this rather charmless station was once the terminus of the East Lancashire Railway before it was extended to Colne. It was reduced to a single platform in 1986 and became a request stop in 2012. Facilities are basic with a simple shelter and a set of just three seats. Nevertheless, usage is steadily growing each year. See Image which shows the station as it was in 1962 (looking in the opposite direction) when it was a much more substantial affair.
