Willaston: Ashtree Farmhouse

This is one of the earliest buildings in Willaston. The half-timbered cottage to the right probably dates from the early 17th century, and would probably have had a thatched roof originally. The stone cross wing on the left is later with a date of 1697 and the initials IE carved in the stone tablet in the gable end. Unfortunately the stone wing now sticks out into the B5151 Hadlow Road in front.
