Two of Arriva Trenau Cymru's class 158 diesel units, which monopolise services on the former Cambrian Railways lines, wait at Harlech station before continuing in opposite directions. 158 832 (left) forms the 1428 departure to Birmingham International, while 158 835 (right) works the 1431 to Pwllheli. Harlech is one of only four intermediate stations on the Cambrian Coast line at which trains travelling in opposite directions may pass one another; in the current timetable, trains usually pass here and at Tywyn. In the distance, Harlech Castle can be seen towering over the town.
