Built in the late 1980s on the former site of the Kemp Town Odeon cinema which itself had been opened in 1934. The cinema suffered a direct hit during World War Two when a German bomber being chased by a Spitfire jettisoned its load over Kemp Town. Two of the five bombs hit a packed cinema during a Saturday matinee show killing 52 people. Rebuilt after the war the cinema continued in operation until 1960 when it was converted into a bingo hall which it remained until its final closure in 1986. It was demolished soon after.
