The Woodchester Historical Society plaque is on this http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4729984 bridge which carries Paul's Rise over Nailsworth Stream. It records that Sir George Onesiphorus Paul (1746-1820) was High Sheriff of Gloucestershire, Woodchester clothier and noted prison reformer. He is buried in the nearby Old Churchyard. Paul's Rise is named after him.
