Carrow Road stadium is the home of Norwich City Football Club. The stadium, which is named after the road on which it is located, was purpose-built by Norwich City and opened on 31 August 1935. The stadium has been all-seater since 1992; its current capacity is 27244. The Jarrold Stand opened in January 2004. It was built on the site of the former South Stand (which was named in honour of Sir Arthur South, not its geographical location). The new stand is sponsored by Jarrolds http://www.canaries.co.uk/club/club_partners/ , a local department store. It is a single-tiered stand of cantilever construction with a capacity of 8212.
