Originally the Gloucester Hotel which had become a licensed premises by the 1890s. By the 1980s it had become a nightclub called The Gloucester that was later renamed The Barfly. The nightclub shut down in 2008 and remained vacant for a while until the current occupiers moved in and opened as a pub with its own microbrewery.
