From Yarmouth to Ardglas they followed the fleet who followed the herring; groups of women from Buckie, Lossiemouth, Sandend, Whitehills to name but a few of the fishing towns from whence they ventured. I personally have been a neighbour of some from that era and regret not having discussed that arduous life with them when I had an ample opportunity to do so. Their humour and toughness was apparent without discussion.
