Currently home to the Halifax but from the mid 19th century to at least the 1970s it was the Prince of Wales public house. One hundred years ago within walking distance were Image, three more a little way up London Road, the Northern on the corner of York Place and another eight up Cheapside. Only one remains, the Hobgoblin, the former Northern.
