The start of the road that heads north from St Peter's Place to Ditchling Beacon. An ancient highway that became part of a London-Brighton turnpike in the 1770s until replaced by more direct routes in the 19th century. This section was developed in the 1810s and was known as Brunswick Place North until the 1880s. The terrace on the left dates from 1815 and is grade II listed.
