The altar located in the side chapel (Our Lady's) was carved by Violet Pinwill in 1920, and installed in May 1920. It is a memorial to John Penn Milton who was killed on 9th July 1917, in the Great War. He was a Midshipman on HMS Vanguard when it exploded at Scarpa Flow. He was aged 20 years. His mother, Alice Ellen Milton, commissioned the altar as a memorial to her son.
