The estuary of the River Blyth seen at low tide, looking upstream towards two bridges. The Kitty Brewster Bridge carries the A189 over the River. Beyond is a rail bridge NZ2782, part of a network of railways built primarily to serve the collieries of south-east Northumberland, under the general name of the Blyth and Tyne railway.
