Faversham Road, Seasalter

Just ahead Faversham Road passes under the railway line between Faversham and Whitstable and beyond that meets the sea front. The section of the East Kent Railway between Chatham and Faversham opened on 25th January 1858. The continuation between Faversham and Whitstable was opened by the Margate Railway on 1st August 1860, and was extended to Herne Bay on 13th July 1861. The London Chatham & Dover Railway reached Margate from Herne Bay in 1863. The section here opened in 1860.
