As well as a sign attached to the front of the building, the pub has a traditional type of sign on a post near the roadside. There are still a lot of pubs and hotels called the Sun. In the days when few people could read or write the sign of a sun would be a useful way of identifying the pub. The present sign appears to show a sunflower but because it has faded badly it has turned pink. On the sign on the building's front it appears more yellowish. Image Image
