Shalynn is situated on an 'island' between the A127 Southend Arterial Road and the northern border of Westcliff's urban area. It provides accommodation for cats whose owners are away for any reason. It also accommodates a number of hopefully temporary feline boarders looking for new homes through the good offices of Southend Cats Protection.
