Originally opened as the Downs Cafe sometime during the interwar period becoming a pub called The Winner at the end of the 1970s. It was refurbished around 2011 and with that came the name change. Beyond the pub in the distance is the suburb of Hollingdean located on the other side of the valley containing Lewes Road.
