See Image When the New River was constructed in the early 17th C, it followed a long loop westwards from the former Image (photographed by Martin Addision) more or less along the 100 ft contour, crossing Powys Lane near Dawlish Avenue. No trace is now visible until the line of trees and shrubs shown here.
