The road runs between Gloucester road and Trafalgar Street. Originally developed in the 1810s next to nothing remains from that period, the western side on the left were rebuilt in the 1870s when Queens Road was widened and often being the rear of warehouses next to the station. These in turn have been demolished over the years with the last going in 1989. On the eastern side the houses were removed in stages with the last demolished in the 1960s. Brighton station can be seen at the far end.
