In August/September 1940 two or three Lysanders and a small low-wing monoplane, possibly a Miles Magister > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4648868 are recorded to have landed in this field. Considering the short term or one-off use of the field by aircraft does not justify Norfolk Heritage's description of the site as having been a "World War II military airfield".
