Opened in 1860 by the Oswestry and Newtown Railway, which soon became part of the Cambrian Railways who made the station their headquarters. The station closed in 1966. Forecourt. By 2015, Cambrian Heritage Railways had established this as their base with the aim of reopening the line to Gobowen
