Since the rebuild the shop has been numbered as 143a. One hundred and forty four was a chemist for nearly forty years with Johnsons having extended into the property from Image This was continued by their successors a couple of provision merchants until the shop was demolished in 1903 to be replaced by a new red bricked building. Initially occupied by a bank it was taken over by the Prudential in 1921 as they extended their premises. Since the rebuild the shop has been a travel agent, clothes store, jewellers and is currently retailing mobile phone accessories.
