Norbury is famous for its links with George Eliot, whose father Robert Evans, was born on Roston Common. Robert attended a local school and sang in the choir at Norbury church. Members of the Evans family, grandfather George, grandmother Mary and aunt Susannah, are buried in Norbury churchyard. See also these images: Image Image
