View NE to the over-bridge carrying the original London & Blackwall Railway, later the Blackwall branch of the ex-LMSR London, Tilbury & Southend line, between Limehouse and West India Dock stations. Since 1987, elevated above it has been the Docklands Light Railway system, from Tower Gateway/Bank to West India Quay, Canary Wharf etc. and to Poplar etc. A widened and elevated West India Dock Road (A1261, becoming Aspen Way) would now be just beyond the railways. Much has changed in the past 30 years: the building 'For Sale' is now a restaurant called Dockmaster's House; the large white structure is probably the remains of one of the Dock Gateposts.
