The village of Felton first had a school here from about 1847, when it was known as St Katherine's after the village church. Later it became Felton C.E.V.C. School and then in 1962 renamed as St Katharine's C.E. Primary. The school served until 22nd July, 2010, whereupon dwindling classes forced its closure and the remaining pupils were sent to nearby Winford.
