Viewed across Prince Street in September 2015. The post office closed down earlier in the year. The South Wales Argus reported that the Blaenavon subpostmaster had stated that his income had been diminishing almost on a monthly basis. He blamed reforms of the Post Office network for the falling revenue, saying that bosses had cut the guaranteed income on post office products such as motor vehicle licences. He indicated that the reforms meant it was increasingly difficult for subpostmasters in stand-alone post offices to make a living. The new model was more suited to branches inside corner shops or mini supermarkets. Blaenavon's post office is now inside a nearby corner shop. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4667111 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1854049 to a photo of the Post Office in 2010.
